Photographer tough job

Sometimes being a photographer is a rough job. I mean take a look at these two photos from recent assignments as an example of the torture I'm am put through.

I actually had to watch a kitten play (along with several other cats and dogs) for several minutes without being able to play with her while on an assignment at the CHA Animal Shelter. That would have been unethical since photojournalists aren't allowed to set up photographs for the news.

And the burger photo is a Thurman-ator from the Thurman Cafe in Columbus, Ohio. I had to smell the delicious aroma of the burger knowing I was on a diet the entire time. When I was done they asked if I wanted the meal... for free. I hadn't had lunch yet, but had to turn them down.

Just so you know what I missed for the love of my job the Thurman-ator is described like this in their menu... "The scene: Bun, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, hot pepper, 12 ounce burger, bacon, cheddar, another 12 oz burger, sautéed onion, mushroom, ham, American and provolone cheese, top bun and served with fries."

I'm thinking I should be calling that Discovery Channel show about dirty jobs. They might want to hang around and watch as I photograph pets, food and sports.
